I took part in a two-part workshop which involved building a light-operated machine which made sound and making an animation by scratching 16mm film. At the end, all the participants’ machines were triggered by the light from the film projector via all the film animations spliced together. So the machines formed the soundtrack for the film. All this in three hours.
