Bron28Mar02For various reasons, I’ve changed from MovableType to Wordpress. There’s bound to be a few things that are broken but hopefully everything will be better in the long runbzzwrt future. This is a picture from the past, obviously.

Broken Bronica

October 16, 2003

Whitechapel PubThis was the last picture I took with my expensive medium format Bronica rangefinder before it broke. The film advance lever snapped inside. Pretty poor I thought. I’m going to attempt to fix it myself at some point.

Last weekend I went on an inspiring workshop run by Paul Trevor.

Heatwave

City Men, LondonBlinking has returned and my face is almost completely back under control. I did take a homeopathic remedy but the effects of Bell’s Palsy were fading then. Yes, it’s hot here so this is a picture from a couple of months back in case we forget what it’s usually like in London.

“Architecture cannot escape fashion”

May 25, 2003

Red bench blue fenceI’m reading The Look of Architecture which makes connections between architecture and clothing that had never occurred to me before. It’s also a bit negative about the failure of photography to capture important aspects of architecture which makes me wonder what the author would think of Tadao Ando: The Colours of Light which also seems to be at the top of my pile at the moment and has some great photographs by Richard Pare.

The Playpen Shifts

China TravelI’ve started a page for the medium format panorama experimenting where you can see pictures of the old 6×9 folder and the more ridiculous, disposable 35mm panoramas, which obviously aren’t medium format but it seemed like the best place for them.

This picture was taken with a Bronica RF645, the negs of which are starting to look small.

Launch Issue

One WaySorry if you’ve seen the first three pictures before but it’s been a bit of a struggle to set this up. Let me know if anything looks odd - HTML wise.

As the logo at the bottom indicates, this is driven by ‘Greymatter’ blogging software (was GM - it’s now MT). I’ve also used iView and a bit of Applescript to save myself having to type code in the entries.

New pictures should follow soon. [Update: now using Wordpress]
