Wait in the Magazine
August 20, 2008
This is one of two of my Wait pictures which were published in the latest LIP magazine. You can find it on sale at the Photographers’ Gallery and a handful of other places in London (see list on first link). It’s hard to be too excited about this because aside from the fact that the two chosen pictures don’t make a lot of sense on their own, they edited my text, without any discussion, including adding a line of observation at the end (”I do see them as still figures surrounded by bustling street life”) which I didn’t even make. Sigh. You can see more pictures from this series here along with my original text (which doubtless would benefit from editing but by someone else).
The recent Street Photography Workshop generated this gallery of pictures from the participants. [Pic]
Wait Light / Excuses to Wander
July 1, 2004
Due to the fact that Planet Drum is moving, I won’t have a regular excuse to wander around Borough anymore. Trips to Croydon have stopped as well. Excuses needed.
Pictures Taken on the Way to Somewhere Else
June 17, 2004
I used the Veriwide for some real work for the first time yesterday (shooting interiors). This was taken with the digital on the way home.
Unlikely to be Found
July 10, 2003
I try to avoid repetition but it’s hard to resist sometimes. People place all sorts of things on the button boxes at pedestrian crossings. I’ve previously taken pictures of apple cores and other discarded food, bottles, drinks cans, that sort of thing.
I suppose what I have to avoid is displaying them as a set or making a book with this one as the cover.
